What are the benefits of becoming a Content Partner?
Local Look Peterborough provides tools and marketing support to help audience members find, interact with and share your content. You can use Local Look Peterborough to drive traffic to your own website, send people to your social media sites (Facebook, YouTube, etc.) or simply use the site as a new outlet for your content. Local Look Peterborough actively promotes site content through social networks, on traditional media and through video and Video on Demand platforms. With Local Look Peterborough you can:

Who can provide content?
Any organization or program that showcases the real people, organizations, communities and events that make Peterborough a great place to live, work and play are welcome. Whether you are a business, non-profit organization, governmental body, association, educational institution, community group, artist or an independent producer, we’d love to hear from you.
What kind of content may I submit?
The best content engages, informs or entertains the viewer. You may not post advertising or any other content that violates the content partner guidelines. We accept video and multi-media presentations, as well as calendar submissions for local events. All content should be focused on living, working and playing in and around Peterborough. (See FAQs under “Submitting Content” for more information).
Am I allowed to share content from Local Look Peterborough on my own website or blog?
Yes. Just click the “Share” icon on the right-hand side of the videos to get the embed code.
Is there a minimum number of videos that I must post to be a Content Partner?
Two videos is all it takes to become a content partner with Local Look Peterborough. A local channel will be created with you organization's logo and you will be able to create and administer your own channel.
How do I get my own Local Look Peterborough channel?
Anyone who posts two or more videos can have their own channel. We promote channels as well as individual content, so it’s a great idea to create a channel to maximize the benefit of being a Content Partner.
I’m not ready to create video content. How else can my organization benefit from Local Look Peterborough?
Become a Marketing Partner by sharing Local Look Peterborough videos on your own website or through social media! You get great content while increasing viewership for Local Look Peterborough videos.
Submitting Content FAQs
How do I submit content?
After your organization completes an application to sign up as a content partner and is approved, you must agree to the terms of the website. Then you will be able to access your content management dashboard. From the dashboard, Content Partners may manage account data, upload video, maintain metadata, submit events, review analytics, and manage comments on their content.
What content can I submit?
Any videos, photos, projects or events by Peterborough area residents, about Peterborough or related to what makes the Peterborough area a great place to live, work and play are welcome. Content and media can be of any length and can include:
- Videos that inform, educate or entertain
- Local organization, personality or business profiles
- Short vignettes or full length programs of local interest
- Public, educational or government (PEG) content
- Local art, shows or music performances
- Event photos and information
- Photos of your favorite locations/scenes in the city (for interactive tours)
- Online games or other interactive visual media
What formats are accepted?
For native uploads we recommend using .mpg, .mov, .avi, .wmv, or .vob file types. Videos that have been previously uploaded to YouTube or Vimeo may also be easily imported.
I’ve never created video. Can Local Look Peterborough help?
Yes. We would be happy to provide you with tips and suggestions on how to get started creating video on any budget. We can also recommend a list of local videographers who can help you if you're not inspired to do it yourself.
Who approves content?
Content Partner submissions are regularly reviewed by the Local Look Peterborough administrators. Comments from visitors are moderated through automated filters, community flags and can also be managed directly by each Content Partner.
